THE CIRCADIAN POLITICS OF MEMORY: vitium quod sanctimonia manus in manus.

The Circadian Politics of Memory is a two part series of personal experiments employing the ‘original/biblical’ seven sins and virtues: Lust, Greed, Sloth, Wrath, Envy, Pride, Chastity, Charity, Temperance, Diligence, Kindness, Patience and Humility. In the first experiment, I created a three dimensional window sculpture work that also doubles as a metaphoric plane diagram exploring sinning and sainthood. Within the sculpture/diagram, the sins and virtues are colour coded and my circadian performance, numerically plotted. Over a period of 30 days I recorded my moral progression/regression using the plane diagram. I then transformed this data into the sculpture and diagram pictured above.
Lovers Analysis (Second Experiment)
I also produced a secondary series of this work where I engaged with my partner in a seven day lovers analysis. For seven days, we both self monitored, and monitored each other (again in relation to how we performed in the context of the sins/virtues plane diagrams); the results of which were displayed in a framed 12 chart diagram series. Below is the charted seven day series.
